LeeAnn Kittle

LeeAnn captains DPS’s sustainability ship and has worked in sustainability at educational institutions for over 15 years. She earned a master’s degree in business administration and a bachelor’s degree in environmental science. She is the Westfall of the Huber-Westfall Garden, one of the first green roofs in northeast Ohio. LeeAnn is passionate about driving strategy and implementing sustainability initiatives with her community. LeeAnn grew up in Cleveland catching frogs, kicking a soccer ball, and holding her own among her three brothers. When she’s not feeling the constant shame of failing to get through her inbox, LeeAnn can be found spending time with her family, watching The Wizard of Oz, or letting her creative juices flow through art or fashion.

Amelia Fernández Rodríguez

I believe that everyone has the responsibility to take care of the Earth regardless of age, race, or position in society. Our generation already lives with the irreversible consequences of climate change. My hope is that DPSS4CA will act as a chain reaction for more action against our universal problem for survival.

Madelyn Arnold

My passion for sustainability started in the fifth grade when I first learned about climate change. Before then, I was obsessed with mermaids and the ocean; even though everywhere I’ve lived has been landlocked, I was constantly reading and making school projects about the subjects. When I first learned of the pollution to our environment and climate change I was surprised no one was talking about it. I was, and still am concerned for my future and the environment I love so much. This started me on my journey to conserve and protect the planet but also learn how to incorporate my other interests as well. Like art, making and selling art to raise awareness about different animals and environments, and to also make money for research and fund projects.

Kelly Moses

Kelly collaborates with DPS school communities to put passion for sustainability into action. He connects schools with programs and resources to help build a district-wide culture of environmental stewardship that extends to all students and staff. He is passionate about community-led action that deepens connection across groups through a shared vision. After graduating with a bachelor’s in international studies and African language, he made the move from New York to Colorado for the year-round sunshine. In his free time, Kelly enjoys playing ultimate frisbee, watching NBA basketball, and sipping coffee between bites of something sweet.

Beckett Nelson-Gardner

The greatest threat to humanity is Climate Change. For as long as I've known about the climate crisis I have been working to help stop it. Through those nearly 6 years I have gone to a myriad of protests, climate conferences and worked with some of the most inspirational people in the fight against Climate Change. My position on the DPS Students for Climate Action board is a continuation of all of what I've been doing. So as I serve on this board I hope to make a change in the climate of DPS and make it a better place.

Charlotte Goldstein

I have always felt passionate about ending the climate crisis. From thrifting to park cleanups, I firmly believe that with teamwork and dedication, each small step we take can help us get closer to our goal, and ultimately achieve an “imperfectly sustainable” world.

Heather Bird Jackson

I care about climate change because I want my kids to live in a vibrant, healthy world that is supported by intact nature, and I want the diverse wildlife with whom we share this planet to thrive. I’m here because these young leaders give me hope!

Kate Todd

I grew up in Colorado, so protecting the natural world is really important to me. I first learned about climate change after seeing coral reef bleaching in 5th grade, and have been involved ever since. Addressing climate change needs to happen now, before future generations are cut off from this beautiful world we experience.

Caden Fiala

Growing up near the Rocky Mountains, nature has always been an important part of my life. Nature is an integral part of the human experience, and I want to do everything in my power to protect it to make the world a more sustainable, livable place.

Farah Djama

Climate Change and its effects are happening now. We can not take any longer to take action. I hope to inspire others, so we can all work together to take care of the only place we call home. Everyone deserves a healthy and sustainable future.
